Andre Dillard: 'I bring extreme athleticism'

Andre Dillard was measured at 6-foot, 5-inches and 315 pounds at the NFL combine. The 23-year-old offensive tackle, still, ran a 4.96 40-yard dash. For context, Lane Johnson—the Eagles' fourth overall pick in 2013—ran a 4.72 at the combine.

Last night, the Eagles jumped up three slots ahead of the Houston Texans and selected Dillard with the 22nd overall pick in the draft.

"First of all, as a player in general I'm just a very coachable lineman, so coaches can do whatever they want with me and I'll be able to adapt to it and be the kind of player they want me to be," Dillard said. "I bring extreme athleticism to the table too and just a technically sound player, so I can bring a lot to the table and there's always stuff to improve so I'm always going to be doing that."

Dillard, who could become the heir apparent at left tackle to Jason Peters, says he's been watching tape of Peters for awhile.

"I've actually been watching his tape for the last couple of years, him and some other great tackles in the league, and I think it's been a huge help for upping my game in a lot of ways," Dillard said of Peters. "So it'll be really cool to learn from him and the other guys on that line."
