Phew!
Avonte Maddox, according to Ian Rapoport, will miss just a few games. He's considered week-to-week with a neck sprain after taking a scary hit on Thursday night. It appeared to be much worse than a "neck sprain."
The Eagles' secondary is struggling, allowing the NFL's most passing yards per game at 323.8. Losing the 23-year-old cornerback to injury for a few games won't help things, but it certinaly could have been much worse.
The Eagles recently signed veteran CB Orlando Scandrick.
Head coach Doug Pederson talked about the secondary issues and injuries on Monday's 94WIP Morning Show:
"It's something we've got to look at this week," Doug Pederson told the 94WIP Morning Show on Monday when asked about the ailing secondary. "I'm fortunate and kind of optimistic that we start getting the guys that are nicked up, with the time off and the rest this weekend these next couple of days, hopefully get some guys back. Just even from the game, the guys that got hurt in game. So, it's something we gotta look at whether it's guys getting healthy or having to maybe, from a schematic standpoint do some things differently there. It's something that Jim (Schwartz) is going to take a hard look at this week and get ready for a Jets team that we think is going to get Sam Darnold back."
And then, of course, there's still Jalen Ramsey dangling out there.
