'Expectation' is Joe Douglas to become next Jets GM

Joe Douglas 94WIP

The Philadelphia Eagles vice president of player personnel, Joe Douglas, is expected to be named as the new general manager of the New York Jets, according to Jason La Canfora. La Canfora reports the sides are discussing financials" of a budget for money to pay his staff as he "reshapes the front office," and an announcement could come this week.

Douglas joined the Eagles in 2016 and has done an excellent job, helping the franchise win their first Super Bowl ever in February of 2018. Howie Roseman still has final say within the Eagles' front office, something Douglas likely seeks. Losing Douglas would certainly hurt.

Douglas spent 2015 season as the director of college scouting for the Chicago Bears and worked for the Baltimore Ravens' personnel department from 2000 to 2015.

The Eagles also lost former director of pro scouting Dwayne Joseph to the Raiders earlier this year.
