Jason Peters is not done yet.
The Eagles have signed the future Hall Of Fame left tackle to a one-year deal, the Eagles announced on Monday.
The deal is reportedly worth $5.5 million guaranteed and up to a maximum value of $10 million, per Ian Rapoport. Peters originally had a cap hit of $10.3 million for 2019, so the Eagles will likely save a significant amount of cap money with this restructure.
Peters, 37, left 11 out of the Eagles' 18 games (including playoffs) last season dealing with various injuries. However, Peters—a nine-time Pro Bowler—has been with the Eagles since 2009 and continues to perform at a high level when healthy.
Philadelphia still should have over $10 million in cap space even after the Peters restructure and the Malik Jackson signing.
Update: Tuesday, March 12th - 8:44am
Peters will reportedly earn a base salary of $3.5 million, saving the Eagles $2 million in cap space.
As part of his reworked one-year deal, Eagles OT Jason Peters will earn a base salary of $3.5M (down from $5.75M), per source. For cap purposes, the deal creates $2M in cap space for Philly. He now counts $8.67M against the cap.
