Eagles sign CB Ronald Darby to one-year deal

The Eagles have re-signed cornerback Ronald Darby to a one-year deal, the team announced on Friday.

Darby, 25, was acquired by the Eagles in August of 2017 from the Bills for Jordan Matthews and a third-round pick.

A 2015 second-round pick out of Florida State, Darby has had an up and down career thus far, dealing with injuries over the past two seasons. Darby has played just 17 games over the past two seasons in Philadelphia after discloating his ankle in 2017 and tearing his ACL last season. It is unclear at what point he will be ready to take the field in 2019.

Darby had three interceptions in eight games in 2017 and started all three playoff games, helping Philadelphia to their first Super Bowl in franchise history.

With Darby back, the Eagles now have a secondary filled with young talent, including cornerbacks Jalen Mills, Avonte Maddox, Sidney Jones, Crevon LeBlanc and Rasul Douglas.
