Eagles open as 9 point underdogs vs. Saints

Nick Foles and Drew Brees

The Westgate sports book in Las Vegas lists the Eagles as nine-point underdogs on Sunday at the New Orleans Saints in the divisional playoffs.

It's certainly not a surprise, but it should still fuel the defending champs, who used the "underdog" mantra through their playoff run last year.

The Saints and Eagles played in New Orleans in Week 11, and Philadelphia got smoked 48-7. Carson Wentz, who has missed the last four games with a back injury, was the starting QB for that Week 11 blowout loss to the Saints. This time around, it'll be Nick Foles under center for Birds, fresh off of his game-winning 4th-and-goal touchdown pass to Golden Tate over the Bears in today's Wildcard game.

Another underlying storyline in this game will be the trash talking that has gone on between the two teams. Mark Ingram called the Eagles "fraudalents" a few weeks ago, after the Eagles began using a new mantra: "Ski Mask season," which refers to them stealing wins.

It will be a large task for Foles and the Eagles on Sunday, but at this point, it's hard to bet against them.
