Roseman on Jenkins: 'I'm the bad cop at times'

Letting Malcolm Jenkins was not an easy one for Eagles general manager Howie Roseman.

On Friday, Roseman joined Angelo Cataldi on the 94WIP Morning Show who asked him if Brian Dawkins popped into his mind when decided to let Jenkins, the emotional leader of the Eagles, hit the free-agency market.

"To say that Brian Dawkins doesn't pop into my mind, would be a lie," Roseman admitted. "He pops into my mind a lot of times when we think about the decisions we make. But I always feel like my job is different than everyone else's job and I'm the bad cop at times. At times, I'm the one who has the responsbility to say goodbye and I don't know that I've done a great job with that. The one thing I'll promise you in everything I do, if I make a mistake, if I don't do something right, I'm going to try and not make it again. And I'm not just talking about with Malcolm.

"For me, I sat up here in front of all of you and said in January, 'Going forward we're going to have to made some stuff tough decisions, we're going to have to make some unpopular decisions to keep this team together and to try and build it.'

"I'm not telling you I take these decisions lightly, that I didn't lose sleep over it, but it's just where we are right now."

Roseman also talked about the relationship between Carson Wentz and Alshon Jeffery, the upcoming draft, and more.
