Ike Reese on why McNabb is underrated

With Once And For All Week beginning on 94WIP today, Angelo Cataldi kicked off the day voicing his strong opinion that Donovan McNabb is overrated

Ike Reese, McNabb's former teammate, will get his turn to settle the debate on air from 2-6pm. Reese believes McNabb is underrated.

"I don't believe his career is viewed from a successful standpoint, as much as it should be," Reese told 94WIP.com on Sunday evening.

Is Donovan McNabb overrated or underrated? #OnceAndForAll

"He's won more playoff games than Hall Of Fame QB's like Dan Marino or Warren Moon. There's only 11 QB's in the history of the game with more playoff wins than McNabb. My point isn't to erase the fact he (we) never won a Super Bowl or his record in the NFC Championship Game is 1-4. The point is, it's HARD to win games in the playoffs consistently.

"The second thing is, his toughness isn't talked about enough," Reese continued. "He played with/through some injuries a lot of QB's wouldn't have been willing to play with."

Reese finally talked about how McNabb and Andy Reid complimented each other perfectly.

"Age old question, Did Andy Reid make Donovan McNabb or did Donovan McNabb carry Andy's offense?

"I think they were perfect for each other," Reese explained. "Both learned on the job in the "toughest sports market in America." Both had growing pains and experienced good times and tough times together. I think they'd both agree they made each other better. I don't think their careers would be the same without each other."

Reese, 46, and McNabb, 43, played for the Eagles together from 1999-2004 culminating in the team's Super Bowl XXXIX appearance in 2005, a painful 24-21 loss to the Patriots.
