In what is probably the biggest surprise of the 2020 NFL Draft, at least thus far, the Eagles selected quarterback Jalen Hurts with the 53rd overall pick.
Hurts, 21, runs a 4.59 40-yard dash and actually rushed for 1,323 yards as a quarterback at Oklahoma last season. Of course, with the Eagles recently giving Carson Wentz a $128 million contract, a lot of speculation is that Hurts will play a Taysom Hill-type role for Doug Pederson.
"I have no idea, but I know I'm gonna go to work and they know I'm gonna learn a lot," Hurts told said on SiriuxXM NFL Radio after being drafted when asked if he knows how the Eagles will use him.
"They know I'm a student of the game and they know there's no ceiling on it."
Hurts played three seasons at Alabama before transferring to Oklahama where he threw for 3,851 yards, 32 touchdowns, and just eight interceptions in 2019.
"It's just another opportunity, an opportunity to go out there and play," Hurts said of becoming an Eagle. "Looking forward to being around the guys. It's a blessing."
