Jason Kelce was named to his third career Pro Bowl on Tuesday. The 32-year-old center, however, doesn't put too much stock into being voted to the 2020 Pro Bowl in Orlando.
"It's nice to be recognized by peers and by fans and everybody as being one of the best at your position, but to be honest all of these individual awards—it's not what this game is about," Kelce told Angelo Cataldi and the 94WIP Morning Show on Wednesday.
"It's not what the sport is about. There is so much about being voted to this or having a great individual year comes down to the guys next to you, the positions you are put in by the coaches. It's not as simple as one guy is better."
Kelce's teammate, Lane Johnson, was snubbed from the Pro Bowl.
No right tackle love, @NFL? You'll see... --
— Lane Johnson (@LaneJohnson65) December 18, 2019"I think everybody can plainly see that Lane Johnson is a better offensive lineman than I am and he's probably the best tackle in the NFL, but for some reason he's not in," Kelce said. "You gotta take all of this with a grain of salt to be honest with you. It's nice to hear, but at the end of the day that's not what this thing is about."
Offensive lineman Brandon Brooks, defensive tackle Fletcher Cox, tight end Zach Ertz, and long snapper Rick Lovato join Kelce as the Eagles' five Pro Bowl representatives.
