Joel Embiid's "Go Pack Go" tweet before Thursday's Eagles-Packers bothered some Eagles fans.
Embiid explained his tweet on Zach Lowe's ESPN Lowe Post podcast this week.
"I am a Packers fan," Embiid told Lowe. "I have a good relationship with Aaron Rodgers. When I was at Kansas he came to one of our practices and I got to talk to him. Great guy since then, I've been following him. Before I got to Philly I was already following him because he was just a great guy to talk to and that's how I became a Packers fan, so I've always supported him.
"One thing is, if the Eagles play any teams in the league, of course I'm gonna support the Eagles because I've embraced the city and I've fallen in love with the city and that's what I'm gonna do because I like the Eagles. But when it comes to the Packers, I mean that was before Philly. I don't know. You gotta stick with your teams."
And then, Embiid sung the Eagles' fight song on the podcast.
Fair enough.
