To begin Monday's 94WIP Midday Show with Joe DeCamara, former Eagles fullback Jon Ritchie made the case for Eagles center Jason Kelce.
"I think of watching that 2017 Eagles team ride through the streets holding the Lombardi trophy. That day, we saw a bunch of great players," Ritchie said on Monday's 94WIP Midday Show of the G.O.A.T. of Broad Street.
"They functioned at a higher level then their individual talent would have suggested. That team was a machine. But that day was punctuated. The exclamation point on the greatest sports experience most of us will witness was by Jason Kelce. He did that day right. It will never be matched or equaled. I will always admire the man for that experience that he provide us as a sports figure. That was the greatest public speaking moment I ever witnessed, and then I started thinking about it. Jason Kelce is so under appreciated as a player, and he is the G.O.A.T. of Broad Street.
"He brings so much more to the table than anyone else on my list," Ritchie continued. "Jason Kelce is underappreciated as a football player but oh, by the way, he's an all-pro. He plays a position on the offensive line where no one notices what he does, but he touches the ball every single snap. This guy makes every call for the offense, he tells Carson Wentz what to do most of the time (granted I'm making some assumptions here) and he sees all and knows all. This guy should go down in history as one of the greatest centers to ever play the game of football because he has a different skillset than any center I have ever seen."
Most lists will have players like Mike Schmidt and Julius Erving in the top five, but the case for Kelce is certainly a fun one to think about. Everyone's criteria is different, that's what makes this fun!
