Philadelphia's dreams of pairing Mike Trout with Bryce Harper are over, but a new player could fill that void in Kris Bryant.

According to ESPN's Bustler Olney, Bryant to the Phillies makes a lot of sense.
"It would not surprise me at all to see Kris Bryant end up with the Phillies," Olney said via Joe Giglio on Twitter. "He's friends with Bryce Harper. He's represented by Scott Boras. You can see a long-term hole at third base in Philly."
The Phillies just completed a deal with Scott Boras' client Bryce Harper, a 13-year mega deal worth $330 million.
Bryant, 27, has a base salary of $12.9 million in 2019, but is under contract until 2022.
The two-time all-star third baseman and 2016 NL MVP has a career slash line of .285/.385/.515 and is averaging 31 homers and 94 RBI per season.
The Phillies' long-term hole at third base Olney is referring to, has a lot to do with Maikel Franco, who has underwhelmed in his first five MLB seasons with Philadelphia. Franco is a career .252 hitter, but is coming off his best season where he hit .270 with 22 home runs and 68 RBI in 2018.
