Report: Jenkins will be at mandatory minicamp

Well, it looks like all things are good on the Malcolm Jenkins front.

According to Adam Schefter and 94WIP's Howard Eskin, Jenkins has reported for his physical and will be at mandatory minicamp on Tuesday.

Schefter added, "Jenkins is said to be excited to be with his teammates and focused on the 2019 season as an Eagle."

Jenkins reportedly spoke with Sharrie Williams of 6ABC.

The Eagles' defensive leader and arguably their most respected player, in Jenkins, was not present at the Offseason Team Activities. The thought was, Jenkins is unhappy with his contract situation.

Jenkins, 31, has just two years remaining on his deal, with a 2019 base salary of $8.1 million and a 2020 base salary of $7.6 million. Jenkins' $11,387,000 cap hit is fourth highest among NFL safeties and his 2019 base salary of $8,100,000 is fifth highest among all safeties. 

Jenkins has led the defense in snaps each of the last three seasons, totaling 3,003 snaps. He has played safety, nickel cornerback and linebacker. He has been the Eagles' most important defensive player and, without question, the undisputed leader of their team. Likely, Jenkins is seeking more length on his contract, as he's set to become a free-agent in 2021.
