Malcolm Jenkins was incredibly candid speaking to reporters on Monday, saying he will not return to the team on his current contract.

— Jeff McLane (@Jeff_McLane) January 6, 2020Jenkins, 32, missed OTAs last offseason, as he was unhappy with his contract. Jenkins had a base salary of $8.1 million this season and is set to have a 2020 base salary of $7.6 million.
Entering the 2019 season, Jenkins' contract—among all NFL safeties—ranked 9th in total dollars ($34 million), 11th in average salary ($8.75 million), 10th in guarantees at signing ($16 million), and 11th in practical guarantees ($21 million).
The Eagles' safety has been the vocal leader of the team for the last few seasons. Furthermore, Jenkins has not missed a start since singing with the Eagles as a free-agent six seasons ago. He has played 100-percent of the snaps in five out of those six seasons, playing 92-percent of snaps in 2017. Jenkins has also been named to the Pro Bowl in 2015, 2017, and 2018.
In 2019, Jenkins tallied 4 forced fumbles, 2.5 sacks, 80 combined tackles, and 6 tackles for a loss.
