Former NFL scout turned analyst, Daniel Jeremiah, has Carson Wentz as the NFL's third best quarterback heading into the 2020 season.
"It's not just a hat tip to my buddy (Dan) Orlovsky, this is legitimate," Jeremiah said on YouTube, ranking top eight QB's of 2020.
"Carson Wentz, he goes at No. 3 on the list here. Again, I think we saw what he could do in that Super Bowl year before he got hurt. He was on his way to winning MVP. The physicality that he plays the position with---his ability to be able pull through tackles, his ability to stand firm in the pocket. I thought last year with all the injuries and issues they had at the receiver position, I thought you saw Carson Wentz elevate everybody's play and I think he's in the MVP discussion this year. He's number three on my list."
Jeremiah did not have Cowboys QB Dak Prescott inside his top eight, nor did he have now Tampa Bay Bucs QB Tom Brady on the list. Patrick Mahomes was ranked No.1 and Russell Wilson was No. 2.
It's worth noting that Carson Wentz was the left off of the NFL's Top 100 list for the first time since 2017. In contrast, Prescott was voted inside the top 50 on the list.
The 2020 NFL season is approaching, but the risks and uncertainty of COVID-19 still looms. Wentz recently spoke about the challenges on 94WIP.
"I'm not too worried because I feel safe at the facilities," Wentz said when asked if he was nervous about coronavirus last week. "The Eagles have done a lot of things to make sure everyone in that building is safe. I'm no idiot and I'm no doctor so I don't know how crazy this thing can be and how quickly it can spread. I think a lot of us people feel safe at the building because of the protocols in place. I know a lot of guys have families, including myself, which makes it a little different because the last thing we want to do is get the virus and bring it home to our families."
