You gotta love Pedro Martinez.

The 47-year-old former Phillies pitcher was back at Citizens Bank Park this weekend, as the organization celebrated the 10 year anniversary of the 2009 National League Championship team—the team that lost to the Yankees in the World Series.

What an awesome weekend in Philadelphia for @phillies alumni weekend. It was great to be back on the field for the first time since 2009! pic.twitter.com/m05RE7ONwC

Martinez told some interesting information to Matt Breen about that World Series, saying that many of the Phillies players played with swine flu!

"It wasn't told, but most of us were sick," Martinez told Breen via Philly.com. "Some of the guys had swine flu and had to be kept away. I caught some of the virus. We would just never say it. When I got home, I realized that I was really sick."

Martinez started Games 2 of 6 in that series and visibly battled a sickness in Game 6, lasting just four innings in the clinching game for the Yanks.

"I had a little bit of an asthma attack in the middle of the game and I was having a hard time breathing," Martinez told Philly.com. "I was really sick. In any other situation, I wouldn't be out there. But the team needed me."
