Peter King feels Eagles are favorites for Ramsey

Peter King's gut feel isn't worth everything, but it's certainly worth something, right?

King, a respected NFL analyst, lists the Eagles as his "gut feel" favorites to land Jaguars star cornerback Jalen Ramsey.

Gut feel, Ramsey landing spots:1 Phl: Roseman unafraid, can offer 1+3+SJones.2 Sea: Schneider unafraid, major CB need.3 KC: Reid unafraid of big chances.4 Bal: DeCosta unafraid but loves building thru draft.-Look for trading team to talk to agent 1st+try for long-term deal.

Interesingly, King says the Eagles can offer a first, a third, and Sidney Joney for Ramsey. Certainly a lot, but realistic. Ramsey, at 24 years old, would instantly become a cornerstone of the Eagles' franchise.

Ian Rapoport reports Ramsey is planning on playing tonight for the Jags.

Ramsey has been one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL since joining the Jaguars, and despite the team's struggles, he has helped make the Jacksonville defense one of the best in the league. He is the shutdown, elite cornerback every team is looking for. Adding Ramsey to this defense would take it to another level and fix their need for an upgrade at cornerback in a major way.

Ramsey, a two-time Pro Bowler and 2017 first-team All Pro CB, has nine interceptions and 45 passes defended in 50 career games. He also has one more interception and one more pass defended in three career postseason starts.

Contractually, Ramsey is making $3,634,227 this season and is set to make $13,703,000 in 2020 before becoming an unrestricted free-agent in 2021, when he will likely sign a massive contract.

The Eagles seem like a natural fit, as their secondary seems to be their weakest area.
