The Phillies are willing to give Bryce Harper a 10-plus year long contract, according to a new Jeff Passan piece for ESPN.com.

"The Phillies and White Sox are the other two teams known to be willing to guarantee Harper the decade-plus-long deal he and Machado, each 26 years old, are seeking," Passan writes. "Harper's willingness to wait for a contract he deems suitable is real, according to a source who said he could see Harper's free agency stretching into February."
As for Manny Machado, he visited Philadelphia on December 20th, and is still a strong possibility for the Phillies.
"The general consensus has not changed," Passan writes. "Machado is going to sign first, and perhaps soon, choosing from among the New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies and Chicago White Sox."
The Phillies have made it clear, they want Harper, Machado, or both. Passan lists some others key free-agents the Phillies may be after like A.J. Pollack and Craig Kimbrel, but most players are waiting for Harper and Machado to make their move first.
