The Philadelphia Phillies have established a $1 million fund for workers impacted by postponed games due to the COVID-19 virus, the team announced on Wednesday.
"Their contributions are a vital part of our fans' experience at Citizens Bank Park, and we want them to have peace of mind as we navigate through this unprecedented time," John Middleton said in a statement.
This is something that many individual athletes and sports organizations, especially around Major League Baseball, are beginning to implement with a season that could be delayed for months.
Major League Baseball and the MLB Players Association donated $1 million to emergency food services.
