Refs miss cheap shot on Carson Wentz

In Sunday's game between the Redskins and Eagles, the NFL officials missed a dirty hit by Washington defensive lineman Daron Payne on QB Carson Wentz.

The play was spotted by Broncos film scout Brandon Thorn on Twitter.

Radio.com's NFL analyst Ross Tucker, who attended the game at the Linc, voiced his displeasure for the hit on Twitter.

Thorn believes that Payne could hear from the NFL league office soon for the hit.

Wentz led the Eagles to a 32-27 comeback win, completing 28 of 39 passes for 313 yards and three touchdowns. He was sacked just once. 

Payne, a second-year player, finished the game with three total tackles, one tackle for a loss, one pass deflection, and the aforementioned controversial QB hit.
