New Knicks president Leon Rose, who is from Cherry Hill, NJ, has reportedly targeted the Sixers GM in hopes of bringing him to New York.
"The source said Rose wanted to see if Brand was dismissed after the playoffs," Stefan Bondy wrote for the NY Daily News.
Brand, 41, took over as Sixers GM in 2018 making a slew of big moves, first acquiring Jimmy Butler, then Tobais Harris. Brand then let Butler go, and acquired Al Horford and Josh Richardson. However, the 2019-20 season has been disappointing, to say the least, for Philadelphia. While they haven't quite managed to stay fully healthy all season long, they are currently just 39-26, sixth in the East, when the season paused due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Head coach Brett Brown has taken the brunt of the criticism for the team falling short of expectations, but the opinion on Brand is definitely mixed, at best.
