According to a new story on ESPN.com, the Sixers and Kings are "surprise bidders" for Horford, who is reportedly seeking a four-year contract worth $100 million after option out of his deal with the Celtics.

The Sixers will try to re-sign their own big free-agents in Jimmy Butler, Tobias Harris, and JJ Redick, but Horford could be their best plan B.

"Maybe the 76ers re-sign their guys and are never in the market," the ESPN.com story says. "But if they don't re-sign all of them, they will have cap space, and they could chase Horford. Philadelphia has a wide range of options and is perhaps the most intriguing team to watch this summer."
Redick, joined by Zach Lowe on his podcast this week, spoke about Horford entering free-agency.

"I was intrigued when Horford opted out...because he's a guy who can really help a team," Redick said. "I didn't realize how good he was. The accumulation of knowledge and skills he has at this age, it's remarkable. He's really good."

Horford, 33, is seeking his final big contract in the NBA. Last season, he was still very productive averaging 13.6 points, 6.7 rebounds, 4.2 assists while shooting 53.5 FG% / 36.0 3FG% / 82.1 FT%. Horford has also given Embiid fits in the past, so getting him on the same team would certainly be nice.
