Can confirm @wojespn report n Sixers signing free agent Ryan Broekhoff. Some clarity: while Sixers had an open two-way slot, was not used in this instance. Players with less than 3 years service time are able to be brought in on "substitute" deals for Orlando

Broekhoff's deal is a "substitute" one, only for the remainder of the 2019-20 season.

Broekhoff, 29, is a 6'7" wing player and shot 40.3-percent on 2.4 attempts in 59 games playing 10.7 minutes per game with the Mavericks over the last two seasons. Broekhoff played for one of the top tier basketball teams in Russia from 2015-2018. The Melbourne native is expected to play for the Australian national team for the 2021 Olympics with Ben Simmons, as well. The team is being coached by Brett Brown.

Obviously, this isn't a major acquisition, but any shooting help off of the bench is big for Philly.
