The 76ers took Jaden Springer out of Tennessee with the 28th overall pick, the team's first selection of the 2021 NBA Draft.
Springer, a 6-foot-4 guard, played one season with the Volunteers, averaging 12.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game while shooting 46.7 percent from the field. He led Tennessee to an 18-9 record this past season, but the Volunteers were upset in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, losing to Oregon State. He scored 12 points in the loss.
Springer led Tennessee in scoring and 3-point shooting, averaging 43.5 percent from beyond the arc.
After Keon Johnson was selected earlier, Springer became the second Volunteer to be taken in the first round. Springer is also known for his plus defense.
