After a Ben Simmons type 6 point, 15 assist, 15 rebound, 0-6 free-throw line performance in a Game 1 win, the Sixers' 6-10" 25-year-old three-time All-Star was, of course, receiving criticism from fans and media for his lack of scoring and putrid foul shooting.
Simmons responded in Game 2 in a more offensively aggressive manner, scoring 12 points in the first quarter en route to 22 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists in just 29 minutes, as the Sixers got an easy 120-95 victory.
Simmons was asked about the criticism after his historic 15 rebounds, 15 assists playoff performance in Game 1.
"It's pretty hard to get 15 rebounds and 15 assists in the NBA playoffs," Simmons on Wednesday night after Game 2. "I'm not trying to prove anybody wrong or anything like that. I'm trying to do my job and win a championship."
Simmons followed up that response on Thursday afternoon with this tweet.
Game 3 between the 76ers and Wizards is Saturday night in Washington D.C.
