Ben Simmons, who hasn’t played in over a month, has mutually agreed to part ways with Klutch Sports, where his now former agent, Rich Paul, is CEO, according to ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne.
Simmons had been represented by Klutch Sports since he was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft. The agency helped Simmons negotiate a five-year, $177 million contract extension with the 76ers back in 2019, then took part in multiple discussions with the Sixers during Simmons’ holdout prior to being traded to the Nets for James Harden.
Simmons has played sparingly since that trade, as back issues caused him to not make his debut with Brooklyn last season, and lingering knee soreness has kept him out since Feb. 15. Still, the Nets say they plan on having Simmons back on the floor at some point this season.
Simmons is still owed $78 million over the next two seasons.
