The Philadelphia 76ers unveiled their new black city edition uniforms on Tuesday morning, first via ESPN's Zach Lowe.
Here are a couple of photos:
The Sixers released this video on Twitter starring Ben Simmons and narrated by Allen Iverson one hour later.
As pointed out by Lowe in the exclusive ESPN+ article, Ben Simmons was a huge Allen Iverson fan and always loved the old black uniforms. However, the 76ers' president of marketing/branding Chris Heck wasn't a fan of the old blacks, so this was the compromise.
Here's a teaser video the Sixers tweeted of Simmons seeing the new jerseys.
The immediate reaction among fans on social media seems mixed, at best. Plenty of fans seem critical and/or confused about the houses going across the middle, which presumably depicts Boathouse Row.
As pointed out by this fan on Twitter, there appears to be a hidden "TTP" for Trust The Process on the uniform.
Or maybe it's just a coincidence?
