James Harden's 76ers debut will have to wait.
The recently acquired star will not play for the 76ers on Friday against the Oklahoma City Thunder or Saturday against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Instead, the Sixers will evaluate Harden's medical status — he is dealing with a tight hamstring — over the weekend by the team's medical personnel before he suits up for Philadelphia, according to ESPN's Tim Bontemps.
When he will suit up appears to be on Tuesday, when the Sixers host the Boston Celtics.
The 76ers acquired Harden and Paul Millsap in a blockbuster deal on Thursday afternoon with the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, Andre Drummond and two first-round picks.
Harden, 32, is averaging 22.5 points, 10.2 assists and eight rebounds per game this season and is expected to take over a Sixers backcourt with Tyrese Maxey.
The Sixers entered Friday night in fifth place in the Eastern Conference but just three games behind the Miami Heat for the top spot.
