The most controversial and lengthy rebuild in professional sports history has been both a success and a failure. It just depends on what lense you're looking through.
From the viewpoint of every fan, the goal of the process was to painstakingly wait while a championship caliber roster was built, equipped with multiple superstars that would not only advance beyond the Eastern Conference Semifinals, but to the NBA Finals lifting at least one Larry O'Brien trophy.
Instead, a full decade later, exhaustion to a near breaking point as purgatory once again seems imminent.
Failure, right? Well, not if you're Joshua Harris.
Despite making dozens of mistakes through the years not having the proper involvement, second round exits aren't affecting his wallet. His $280 million dollar investment back in 2011 is now valued at an estimated $3.15 billion, and will skyrocket even further with a new arena. With consistent 50 win seasons and a season ticket waiting list thousands deep, that's tremendous success.
The Process vs the People debate is a tough reality for all parties, expect ownership.
