The NBA landscape was shaken up on Sunday when the Brooklyn Nets traded Kyrie Irving to the Dallas Mavericks for Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorrian Finney-Smith and multiple future draft picks.
Irving is likely the biggest star to be moved ahead of Thursday’s trade deadline and the deal has ramifications in both the Eastern and Western Conference playoff races.

For as good a player Irving is, he carries some baggage after tumultuous tenures in his last two stops in Brooklyn and Boston and things did not end on great terms in Cleveland, either, despite helping lead them to a championship.
Needless to say, such a polarizing player sparked many different reactions on social media among NBA fans. It was a mixed bag of celebration and skepticism from both Nets and Mavs fans while Lakers fans, who were envisioning a reunion with LeBron, were left frustrated their team was unable to strike a deal.
