The Sixers made their first move ahead of Thursday night's annual NBA draft.
The Pels have reportedly traded the last of their four second-round picks, No. 53 overall, to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for cash considerations, according to NBA insider Shams Charania. The team paid $2 million for the pick, which sets the rate for purchasing picks for the rest of the draft.
The move comes just days after the Pelicans shook up the lottery by flipping the No. 10 overall pick, another future first-rounder, guard Eric Bledsoe and center Steven Adams to the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for the 17th overall pick and star center Jonas Valanciunas.
New Orleans has been reported to be active in trade talks throughout the lead-up to the big event. The Memphis trade was seen as a push to free up cap space.
Philadelphia now has the 28th pick in the first round, as well as the 50th and 53rd in the second.
