The Philadelphia 76ers will be "very aggressive" in pursuing Paul George this offseason if he does not sign an extension with the Los Angeles Clippers, according to Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report.
George, 33, has a $48.8 million player option for next season with the deadline for him to accept the option being June 29th, 2024.
The nine-time NBA All-Star is averaging 22.3 points and 5.3 rebounds on 45.6 FG% / 38.3 3P% / 90.8 FT% shooting splits this season.
This news comes just minutes after Daryl Morey and the Sixers had a busy, but rather unexciting, trade deadline, despite making four trades.
Here's a recap of what the Sixers did during today's NBA Trade Deadline:
Acquired:
-Buddy Hield
-Cameron Payne
-Two second round picks
Traded:
-Marcus Morris
-Furkan Korkmaz
-Patrick Beverley
-Jaden Springer
-Danuel House
-Four second round picks
The Sixers, who are expected to be big players in the buyout market for names like Kyle Lowry and Spencer Dinwiddie in the coming days, will have $60-plus million in cap space this summer.
