Joe Giglio does not believe in Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers, and does not think president Daryl Morey should go all-in and make a big trade ahead of the February 8th trade deadline.
"Next Thursday is the NBA trade deadline and I look at the Philadelphia 76ers and I see a team that is now fallen to fifth in the Eastern Conference," Giglio said. "I see a star player who has been banged up, again, like he always is for the better for the last few weeks and maybe a tough one this time, we'll see how long he is out.
"I don't think they have enough on this team. I don't believe this a real contender in the Eastern Conference...I don't want to do it, I don't think the Sixers' team is worth it to go all-in on the trade deadline. I can't trust Joel Embiid to be physically ready because he's never physically ready."
Embiid suffered a knee injury late in Tuesday's game against the Warriors, his first game back after missing the previous two with a knee injury.
"I can't go in on a team whose best player can never stay on the floor," Giglio said..."This has been the same thing—he was drafted one decade ago. So much time has passed waiting for this guy to be healthy, he's never healthy. That's just the reality of it."
The Sixers are now 29-17 after losing four in a row, falling to the No. 5 seed in the East, 1.0 game back of the third placed Knicks and 2.5 games back of the second placed Bucks.
