Following the Philadelphia 76ers' trade of James Harden, Daryl Morey has now moved the Sixers into prime position to pursue at top end guard—either via trade or over the summer during free-agency.
Two of the top names to keep an eye on, according to SI's Chris Mannix, are Zach Lavine and OG Anunoby.
Lavine, 28, is the more elite, proven player with already two All-Star appearances and a scoring average of 25.1 points per game over his last six NBA seasons.
Lavine would count for $40 million, $43 million, and $46 million against the cap, respectively, over the next three seasons before his player-option kicks in for $48.9 million in 2026-27.
Anunoby, 26, is much cheaper at $18 million against the cap this season and then a $20 million player option for next season.
The 6'7" wing would bring a different dynamic to the Sixers than a scoring guard like Lavine. Anunoby averages 16.6 points per game over his last four seasons, shooting 38.1-percent from three and has experience with first-year Sixers head coach Nick Nurse in Toronto.
The Sixers reportedly acquired Marcus Morris, Robert Covington, Nicolas Batum, KJ Martin, 2026 and 2028 first-round picks, two second-round picks and a pick swap to 76ers for James Harden, PJ Tucker, and Filip Petrusev early Tuesday morning.
All of those contracts, plus Tobias Harris' $39.2 million, are expiring contracts, giving Philadelphia somewhere between $50 and $65 million in cap space for next season, according to ESPN's Bobby Marks.
