77-percent of Philadelphia fans, according to a poll ran by the 94WIP Morning Show on Wednesday, say the Phillies have a better chance to win their respective championship in 2023 than the 76ers.
Joe DeCamara says those fans are wrong.
"You're wrong. The 77-percent of you that believe that are simply wrong," DeCamara said on Thursday. "Guys, the Sixers clearly have a better chance to win the championship this year than the Phillies. And I love the Phils, and the Phils have a legit shot there's no doubt. The Sixers have a better shot.
DeCamara acknowledged that this is the best team the Phillies have assembled since 2011 to start a season, but what the Sixers are doing—winning nine of their last 10 games—is flying under the radar.
"People are sleeping on the Sixers...They've got the third best record in the NBA," DeCamara said. "ESPN came out with power rankings yesterday, they're second in the power rankings...What Embiid is doing right now is one of the great seasons of all-time...There's only three teams in the East that even have a shot to get to the Finals—Sixers, Celtics, Bucks. And oh by the way, there's no monster in the West."
