We have a new update on the Ben Simmons trade rumors from Adrian Wojnarowski, who tweeted on Wednesday afternoon, that Ben Simmons and his agent Rich Paul of Klutch Sports are "in step" with a trade out of Philadelphia.
Woj adds that Daryl Morey, Elton Brand, and the Sixers "continue to canvass the league" for trades, but their asking price remains steep.
Two reported trades have been leaked, with the 76ers asking for major hauls in both.
First, they were reportedly seeking Kyle Lowry, Fred VanVleet, OG Anunoby, and the 4th overall pick in Thursday’s draft from the Raptors.
Second, they wanted four first-round draft picks, three pick swaps, and a young player from the Spurs in exchange for Ben Simmons, according to Kevin O'Connor of The Ringer.
Here is Simmons' contract situation:
Age: 25
Current contract: 5 years, $177.2M
Years remaining on deal: 4
Respective cap hits: $33M, $35.5M, $37.9M, $40.3M
