The 76ers will be without their head coach when they visit the Nets on Thursday night, as Doc Rivers has reportedly entered the league's health and safety protocols.
According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Rivers will be replaced by assistant coach Dan Burke, who will fill in on Thursday in Brooklyn and for the duration of Rivers' absence.
In addition, both Myles Powell and Tyler Johnson have entered health and safety protocols and will be out on Thursday night. Powell, a Seton Hall product, was signed to a two-way contract on Dec. 19, while Johnson was signed to a 10-day deal just three days after.
Per the league's new health and safety protocols, members can return to the team as soon as six days after testing positive, as long as they are asymptomatic and not contagious.
Philadelphia's game against the Pelicans was postponed back on Dec. 19, as the league has had 10 postponements during the most recent COVID surge. After Thursday's game, the Sixers are off until Jan. 3 against the Rockets.
