Andy Reid is a man that sure loves his food. The Chiefs are two games away from their third straight Super Bowl appearance after easily handling the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night. Despite winning a Lombardi Trophy just two years ago, the hunger for another title remains--as Reid so eloquently put in a hilarious analogy.
When speaking to the media on Monday, Reid was asked if his teams' approach has changed due to their recent success in the playoffs.
"Once you’ve won one, how do you think it makes you feel going forward?” Vahe Gregorian of the Kansas City Star asked Reid. “More hungry? Or you’re like, ‘I know I can get there’? I wonder how that is for you.”
Reid took the hungry part of the question literally, and compared winning a Super Bowl and remaining competitive to trying to eat just one slice of chocolate cake after already having another one dangling right in front of you.
“If you like chocolate cake and you eat a piece, and then you have one dangling in front of your face, you’re probably gonna wanna eat that one, too,” Reid said. “Not much is gonna stop you. I mean, that’s how you feel about the Super Bowl. That is the chocolate cake with the ultimate frosting, and you’re gonna try to go get it if you can.”
It should be no surprise that Reid is talking about food. When reflecting back on his time in Philly before his return to the city for the Chiefs Week 4 matchup against the Eagles this season, Reid told ESPN that there 'wasn't a cheesesteak there that I didn't like.'
I don't know if Reid is a wings guy, but the Chiefs will have a tough task Sunday night when Buffalo comes into Arrowhead. The Bills are red hot after a dominating victory over the Patriots during Wild Card weekend.
