10 Instant Takeaways From Eagles Loss To Giants

Losing to the Arizona Cardinals at home last week seemed like rock bottom, but the Eagles drilled themselves even deeper into the bedrock on Sunday with their humiliating loss to the Giants.

The Cowboys win rendered the result of the Eagles-Giants game pointless, but Dallas led by just four in the first half when Nick Sirianni decided to mercifully wave the white flag and pull his starters.

The Eagles will still head to Tampa Bay next weekend as the fifth seed in the NFC, but it's hard to imagine the season going any longer than that.

It will be another fiery Reaction Monday on WIP after this one, but here are some of the instant takes from your favorite hosts:

1. "The Eagles had a chance to create a defacto bye, rest their stars and reset before a playoff game. Instead they are now somehow more banged up and embarrassed heading into a playoff week. All in the name of a very slim chance Dallas could lose to an awful team. What a joke," Joe Giglio.

2. "This is the worst game I've ever watched the Eagles play," Paul Jolovitz.

3. "I might as well start drinking. I'm bout to call in sick," Hugh Douglas.

4. "Eagles really wanted to play well today. Talked about it all week. Seemed like moral was high To come out like this and be down 24-0 is stunning," Eliot Shorr-Parks.

5. "The Eagles are playing so poorly right now that keeping Sirianni might not even be a choice at this point. This team has fallen off a cliff more than any can ever remember. Legitimately might be the worst team in football right now," Tom Kelly.

6. "With all due disrespect to the 94 Eagles, this 2023 Eagles collapse has to be the biggest collapse in Philadelphia sports since the 64 Phils. It's gotten THAT bad," Joe DeCamara.

7. "If the Eagles get slaughtered today and again next week - I'm not secure Sirianni survives that," Glen Macnow.

8. "This coaching staff still not having a clue against the blitz is absolutely insane. What did they think the Giants were going to do today?" Jack Fritz.

9. Getting beat so badly by the Giants that you quit is rock bottom. There's no coming back from that.

10. The end of this season is worse than the end of both Chip Kelly's and Doug Pederson's tenure. Nick Sirianni is absolutely coaching for his job against the Buccaneers next weekend.
