Howie Roseman strikes again with another fantastic draft bringing home more Georgia defensive and Alabama offensive talent. Following his pick-stealing, stock-piling-the-best-college-football-talent extravaganza, the Philadelphia Eagles are gaining regional attention as a runaway favorite to win the NFC East and potentially the entire conference.
The NFC is wide-open right now. With Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers no longer in the conference, there are few teams that have a stable quarterback who can lead them to the playoffs. Jalen Hurts is that guy, and it's likely the team will get back to dominating again in 2023-24.
Right now, I'm siding with these four Eagles' futures on BetMGM and have my eye on a few others.
1. NFC East Division Winner (+100)
BetMGM has the Eagles as the clear favorite to win their division. I would say this is a comfortable bet as it may come down to the Eagles and Cowboys again. I see the Eagles breaking away down the stretch and taking the division again, meaning it'll be the first time a back-to-back winner happens in the NFC East. You're probably not going to get a better number than this during the offseason, so it's a steal.
2. Win 11 Games (-150) and Make the Playoffs (-350)
Let's say the Eagles split with their division rivals but beat one team twice (sorry Commanders), beat the Cardinals at home, Seahawks, Buccaneers, Dolphins, Vikings and Patriots, then I could say the Eagles win their 11 games. That being said, I think it's safe to say the Eagles will make the playoffs. I don't know if we'll see a better number on BetMGM even if the Eagles lose a few games, so I'm content with keeping an eye on this bet.
3. NFC Championship (+300)
This would be nice, and I'm liking this number as the 49ers are the next favorites at (+350). The reason why I'd take the Eagles over the 49ers is because I'm not sure what that offensive line is going to look like next season. It didn't do much to help their quarterbacks, like Brock Purdy when it came down to the Championship. I'm not confident enough in what the 49ers can do, but who knows? Backing the Eagles is worth looking at.
4. Jalen Carter to win DROY (+600)
With Will Anderson being the current favorite in a great situation in Houston, Carter will have to have a fantastic season in order to snag this award. But if he starts and gets to ball out alongside Jordan Davis, Nakobe Dean and his other Georgia teammates, that teammate connection might work in his favor. He's also working with the rest of the defensive veterans on the team, getting those necessary reps to be able to be a polished right tackle. It's worth following this bet, but I don't think it's something I would take this early.
