Edwards and Chicago agreed to terms shortly after the legal tampering period opened. The three-year deal is worth up to $19.5 million and includes $12 million guaranteed, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported.

Edwards, 26, has spent his first four NFL seasons with the Eagles. He had 159 combined tackles and 99 solo tackles over 17 games for Philadelphia in 2022.

An undrafted free agent who joined the Eagles in 2019, Edwards played 61 games and made 47 starts in Philadelphia. He's a native of Lake Villa, a far north suburb of Chicago. Edwards played collegiately at Wisconsin.

Contracts can officially be signed beginning Wednesday at 3 p.m. CT, when the new league year starts. Edwards will still need to pass a physical.
