Throw all the talk of last season and getting revenge out the window. The 49ers on Sunday showed that, until proven otherwise, they’re the class of the NFC.
San Francisco walloped the Eagles 42-19 on Sunday afternoon at the Linc. Philly led 6-0 after the first quarter, but it was pedal to the metal for the 49ers the remaining 45 minutes.
The Eagles have carved up many an opponent this season, but their 10-1 record entering Sunday had covered up some of their holes. The 49ers exposed them, and Brandon Graham told the 94WIP Morning Show on Tuesday he’s glad they did.
“The 49ers, they did a good job," the Eagles captain said. "They did a good job hitting that C-gap, little scheme things. They whooped us though, they got us. I’m not taking away from any of that, they beat us. We had an opportunity in that game early on to change the way the game plan was for them, and we just didn’t capture that moment. …
“Listen, the 49ers are the best team in the NFC. They got us, but we’ve got to get better and that’s the challenge we have with this team and the opportunity with this team that we’ve got to make sure that we do get better.
“I love that we just got whooped, because we’ve been getting away with stuff and we’ve been talking about it and we always address those things, but it caught up to us this week. I just know that I love this team, I’m down for this organization because I know we’re going to get it right."
