Report: MRI reveals no structural damage on C.J. Gardner-Johnson's knee

Former Eagles defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson was carted off the field after suffering a non-contract knee injury at Detroit Lions training camp practice on Monday, that appeared to be serious.

However, a few hours later, ESPN's Field Yates tweeted the good news that an MRI revealed no structural damage for Gardner-Johnson, who is considered "day-to-day."

Gardner-Johnson went from fan favorite in Philadelphia to public enemy number one after a tumultuous offseason as a free-agent.

Ultimately, CJGJ and the Eagles were unable to agree on a contract extension this offseason and the safety begrudgingly signed a one-year, $8 million contract with the Detroit Lions.

Just last week, Gardner-Johnson called Philadelphia fans "f***ing obnoxious."

While the 25-year-old certainly has his off-the-field moments, when it comes to football he has been excellent throughout his career. Last season, CJGJ helped the Eagles reach the Super Bowl, recording six interceptions in 12 games.

The Eagles and Lions do not play each other in 2023.
