The Eagles returned to practice on Tuesday, but for the second straight practice, they did so without their franchise quarterback as Carson Wentz (lower body injury) was on the sideline for the portion open to the media.
The team is not required to release an injury report for pre-season practices, so it is unclear how much Wentz will do during practice, but the indication early on was that he will once again be missing the entire practice as he did on Sunday.
Prior to practice on Tuesday head coach Doug Pederson did not sound concerned about his franchise quarterback missing time with an injury.
"What Carson is working through is nothing major," Pederson said. "It is minor. It is day to day."
With Wentz sidelined it seemed like once again it would be Nate Sudfeld with the first-team offense and Jalen Hurts as the backup.
Wentz has had a strong training camp so far, and unlike some of the other players on the roster, missing a day-or-two as the team starts to prepare for the regular season opener in less than two weeks is not a big deal. The concern would be, as is the case with any lower-body injury, that it could impact Wentz into the regular season.
The real test for how injured Wentz really is will come next week, when the Eagles will be down to 53-players on the roster and will officially be in game-week mode.
Wentz's lower-body injury is the latest in a string of injuries the team has dealt with throughout camp. The team has already lost starting left tackle Andre Dillard and starting right guard Brandon Brooks for the season, with running back Miles Sanders also sidelined the majority of camp.
