The "idea of the Dallas Cowboys investigating ways to acquire [Haason] Reddick is real," according to SI's Mike Fisher.
"I wouldn't trade him to Dallas," Hugh Douglas said, reacting on Friday's 94WIP Midday Show.
"The only way I think this is acceptable is if the Eagles think he's about to be done," Joe Giglio said. "If the Eagles did this, their evaluation of Reddick better be he's about to fall off considerably. Otherwise, you're just making the Cowboys better."
Fisher adds the Cowboys and Jaguars are interested in the Eagles' pass rusher, who has been given permission by Philadelphia to seek a trade. The Eagles, of course, do not want to trade Reddick within the NFC East, the source says.
Eagles GM Howie Roseman was recently asked about Reddick at the NFL Combine and said, “Trying to blend obviously what you’re trying to do this year and how you’re going to look in the future.”
Just about five hours before Super Bowl LVIII began, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that Reddick, the Eagles' top pass rusher, has received permission to seek a trade and "could land elsewhere."
Mike Garafolo shortly later added that Reddick is seeking a "big payday somewhere."
Reddick, 29, is entering the final year of his contract, a three-year, $45 million deal he signed with his hometown Philadelphia Eagles in March of 2022. He has no guaranteed money remaining on his current deal.
The Eagles could release Reddick with a post-June 1st designation and save about $16M in cap space.
The Camden, NJ native had a career-high 16.0 sacks in 2022 and five forced fumbles, plus another 11.0 sacks in 2023. Reddick added 3.5 sacks in three playoff games during the Eagles' run to the Super Bowl last year.
