DeCamara: 'Dallas Goedert as good as gone'
Joe DeCamara, when discussing his takeaways from this week's NFL owners meetings, said he believes Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert is "as good as gone," after hearing head coach Nick Sirianni speak about him.
"I think Goedert is as good as gone and I'm bummed about it," DeCamara said on Wednesday's 94WIP Morning Show. "But the nature of how Nick Sirianni answered a question about Dallas Goedert tells me a ton that the Eagles outstanding tight end ain't going to be on the team next year."
"Right now, he's on our football team and obviously Dallas Goedert has meant a lot to us," Sirianni said this week. "We'll see how that plays out."
"There is zero in there, zero, that speaks to him coming back," DeCamara said.
Goedert, 30, signed a four-year, $57 million extension in November of 2021 meaning 2025 is set to be his final year under contract. According to Spotrac.com, in 2025 Goedert will earn a base salary of $1,255,000, a signing bonus of $13,995,000 and a workout bonus of $250,000, while carrying a cap hit of $11,810,583 and a dead cap value of $11,081,864.
The veteran tight end was huge for the Eagles during the postseason, catching 17 of 20 targets for 215 yards and a score in route to a Super Bowl championship victory for Philadelphia.
However, Goedert has missed multiple games due to injury in each of the last three seasons and has never caught more than 59 balls and five touchdowns in a season.
