This is Darius Slay's first taste of the Eagles-Cowboys rivalry and the Philadelphia star cornerback says he's never been more juiced for a game before.
"I'm excited for every game, but this is probably like the most juiced I've been when it came to a game on a night before I'm playing in it," Slay told Jon Marks and Ike Reese on Thursday's 94WIP Afternoon Show.
"Like, of course I'd be juiced right before the game, but during the whole week—we got so much juices it's crazy. I'm like, 'Oh man, ya'll are'—this is a real life rivalry. I think if it was Dallas Cowboys, we playing them 16 weeks, lot of people would have been like 300 [the movie]. We would have been having a war. It's the real deal."
Slay's wife tweeted that she is ready for the game, as she was raised in Oklahoma and a lot of her family roots for the Cowboys.
Slay, 29, was acquired by the Eagles in a trade in March and inked a new three-year deal worth $50 million, including $30 million guaranteed.
The three-time Pro Bowl has not disappointed in his first season as an Eagle, locking down the opposition's top wide receiver each and every week. This week, he'll see a lot of Cowboys top wide out Amari Cooper.
