Slay has been under fire from Eagles' fans and media after his team suffered two blowout losses, allowing 42 and 33 points respectively.
Slay seemingly defended himself on X, reposting a tweet showing his impressive coverage stats against the Cowboys.
James Seltzer and Eliot Shorr-Parks disagreed over the appropriateness of Slay's repost.
"When he comes out, after a game like that, promoting how well he played. Kind of like fighting back on criticism...that bothers me," Seltzer said on Friday's 94WIP Morning Show. "He's a captain on the team. I don't dislike Darius Slay, I don't have an issue...but this stuff where he constantly has to spout off when the team is not playing well, or when things are going bad, he's always got to defend himself. He's always got something to say. Like, shut up! That's where I am at with Darius Slay."
"If Slay wants to defend himself, I am OK with that," Shorr-Parks disagreed. "A guy showed up at NovaCare last week with a trash can with Slay on it. If Slay wants to retweet something saying he had a good game, I wouldn't exactly qualify that as spouting off."
"But it's not the first time," Seltzer said. "He did it after the Super Bowl...The point is, there are multiple times where either they've have bad games that they've lost and he's got to come out and defend himself."
Following the 49ers' loss, Slay was criticized by former Eagles linebacker Seth Joyner for his lack of tackling. And Slay went back and forth with Joyner on X.
