Former Eagles tight end Zach Ertz has finally found a new home, landing with the Detroit Lions with just two games remaining in the current NFL season, according to Tom Pelissero.
Ertz, 33, hopes to join the Lions for this week's NFC Championship game at the San Francisco 49ers.
The Cardinals granted Ertz's request to be released on November 30th and there was some speculation that he could reunite in Philadelphia, but that obviously did not come to fruition.
The Lions lost backup tight end Brock Wright to injury in their divisional round win over the Bucs.
Ertz played his first eight seasons in Philadelphia, helping the team win the Super Bowl in 2018. Ertz had 27 catches in seven games this season.
